Various kinds of apportion cards are available in India. The state government sorts individuals and issues distinctive proportion cards as per the classifications. In 2013, The National Food and Security Act (NFSA) was passed to give a specific amount and quality food to individuals at reasonable costs. NFSA accommodates two kinds of apportioning cards for all the states in the country.

Apportion Cards Under NFSA, 2013

NFSA accommodates proportion cards that are given by the particular state governments. Conveyance of food in reasonable value shops is as per the amount and quality referenced in NFSA. The various kinds of apportion cards under NFSA are -

Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)

This sort of proportion card is given to devastated families recognized by the state governments. People who don't have stable pay are given this card. Jobless individuals, ladies, and old matured individuals fall under this classification. These cardholders are qualified to get 35kg of food grains each month per family. They get foodgrains at the sponsored cost of Rs.3 for rice, Rs.2 for wheat, and Rs.1 for coarse grains.

Need Household (PHH)

The families not covered under AAY, go under the PHH. The state governments distinguish need family families under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) as indicated by their selective, comprehensive rules. The PHH cardholders get 5kg of food grains per individual each month. Foodgrains are at the sponsored cost of Rs.3 for rice, Rs.2 for wheat, and Rs.1 for coarse grains for these cardholders.

Apportion Cards Under TPDS

Prior to the presentation of NFSA, the state governments gave apportion cards under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS). Subsequent to passing NFSA, states began giving apportion cards under it (which are referenced previously). The state governments which are yet to implement the NFSA framework, actually follow the old apportion cards gave by them under TPDS. They are -

Beneath Poverty Line (BPL)

Families that have BPL cards are the ones who are living beneath the neediness line indicated by the state government. BPL families get 10kg to 20kg food grains per family each month at half of the monetary expense. The financed end retail cost for indicated amounts of wheat, rice, sugar, and different things change from one state to another. Each state government fixes various rates per amount.

Above Poverty Line (APL)

Families that have this card are the ones who are living over the destitution line as determined by the state government. APL families get 10kg to 20kg food grains per family each month at 100% of the monetary expense. Each state government fixes a financed retail rate for rice, wheat, sugar, and lamp fuel oil for a specific amount

Annapoorna Yojana (AY)

AY apportion cards are given to more seasoned individuals who are poor or more than 65 years. Cardholders get 10 kgs of foodgrains each month under this card. State governments issue these cards to the more established individuals who go under this plan as determined by them.
