To encourage farmers more than natural farming, the Gujarat government has provided Rs. The government is committed to provide fast drums and baskets to an estimated 15 lakh farmers in Gujarat as part of which Rs 5,000 is being provided, said Agriculture Minister Raghavjibhai Patel while answering a question posed by an MLA in the Assembly today.


How many applications?

Giving more details, Minister Patel said that in Banaskantha district 8,15 applications have been received for the benefit of this scheme in the year 2061-9 while in Kutch district 4,612 applications have been received. The Minister also added in the House that as soon as the tender process is underway by Gujarat Agro, the farmers will be assisted by disposing of these applications with full transparency.



Gauchar land statistics in Gujarat shocking

During Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly today, it was revealed that 2303 villages in the state do not have Gauchar land but 9029 villages in the state have less Gauchar than the minimum Gauchar. Banaskantha also has the highest number of less Gauchar lands than the minimum Gauchar in 1165 villages. There is no Gauchar in 250 villages of Valsad district. The above details have been presented as per the consolidated information of Congress.
