 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched the National Scheme ‘Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors’ (YUVA) to encourage young people to use and encourage their writing skills.

 The purpose of this scheme is to train 75 aspiring writers under the age of 30, who can present India and its culture and literature globally with them.  Under this mentorship, a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month will be given to the selected author for 6 months.  "Here is an interesting opportunity for the youth to use their writing skills and contribute to India's intellectual discourse," PM Modi wrote, sharing a link to the scheme on Twitter.  For more information


 Learn how the selection will be done
 - A total of 75 authors will be selected through an all-India competition on MyGov.
 - This selection will be made by a committee constituted by NBT.
 - The competition will run from June 4 to July 31, 2021.
 - Young writers participating under the mentorship scheme will have to submit a manuscript (in book form) in 5000 words for evaluation.
 - The names of selected young writers will be announced on 15th August 2021 Independence Day.
 - The author selected on the basis of mentorship will prepare the manuscript for the final selection under the guidance of nominated mentors.
 - The works of the winners will be ready for publication by 15th December 2021.
 - Published books may be released on 12 January 2022 on Youth Day i.e. National Youth Day.

 The National Book Trust (NBT) will host a two-week authors' online program for selected candidates.  In the meantime the young writers will be trained by two eminent writers from the NBT panel.  After completing the two-week online writers' program, the writers will be trained for 2 weeks in various online / onsite national camps organized by NBT.

 Young writers will have the opportunity to expand their understanding and improve their skills through communication in various international events such as literary festivals, book fairs, virtual fairs, cultural exchange programs, etc.  At the end of the mentorship, under the mentorship scheme, the author will be given a consolidated scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month for 6 months.  As a result of the Mentorship Program, NBT, India will publish a book or a series of books written by young authors.  At the end of the mentorship program, authors will receive a 10 percent royalty on successful publication of their books.  Published books will also be translated into other languages ​​of India.  Jazzy will ensure the exchange of culture and literature between different states and thus promote a better India.
